The theme for Artsy Wednesday this week is Blue!
I had a plan for this week that sounded great in my head. It ended up being a disaster! I did this design on my pinky and hated it but though I should keep going, maybe it would look OK once I had finished. Wrong. I did two more nails and gave up. Here's my failed attempt at blue nails:
Ewwwwww! I started with China Glaze - Secret Peri-Wink-le and then stamped with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Blue It using Bundle Monster plate BM10 (first set). I used the stamp for a guide to keep my beads and rhinestones straight. Then I applied some top coat in the middle of the stamp and started placing the beads.
Moving on...I though I'd try another design and it was fine until I smudged two fingers!
For this one I used a base of China Glaze - Secret Peri-Wink-le and the stripes are China Glaze - Dorothy Who?.

Ahhh nail dramas - life would be boring without them! Great concept anf colours even if it didn't turn out how you liked :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, there's no such thing as success without failure. Thanks holly :)
Deleteeh shit happens like that ya know. you could always submit it to ugly mani mondays! the 2nd one looks great!
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks :)
DeleteI like the 3D effect. Though I bet it was hard to get off.
ReplyDeleteI didn't leave it on long enough for it to dry so I was able to slide most of it off :)
DeleteI can see where the first one was trying to go, it looks awesome in my head too! The second one is nice :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic art, very creative. I love the second glitter stripe one.
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteLove the colors on both, but the second is for sure a winner! Thanks for posting it's always nice to see that not everyone does a perfect mani every time!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I think it's fun to post fails as well sometimes. :)
DeleteIt actually looks kinda cool! Reminds me of the ocean... :D
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteIn the first one, the colour of the blue rhinestones against the secret peri-wink-le is actually gorgeous. You definitely had a nice colour scheme going.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is simply lovely.
Thanks, I do like the colours too, I think it's just too 3D for my liking. :P
DeleteOh, one of those days, I know them hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI like the second attempt, and am pretty sure the first one would have been awesome too, but look at the bright side, if it had dried completely it would have been murder to remove... :)
Bad nail day haha! Yes it would have taken forever to remove so I'm kinda glad it didn't work out. :)
DeleteThe first one is a very cool concept! I think it looks like caviar :) I love that you posted it anyways so we could see! Thnx
ReplyDeleteYeah it does look like caviar! You're welcome, I thought some people would appreciate it. :)
