Pretty Serious - Seasonal Sunset

Seasonal Sunset has a rusty orange jelly base and gold glass flecks. This polish is unique in my collection and I can't think of any polish I've seen that's like it. 

I had no problems with the formula, it was almost opaque after two coats but it was still slightly transparent at the tips so I used three coats. If you have shorter nails you could probably use two.

Knock Out Violet has a purple base with purple and blue glass fleck shimmer. In the bottle it  has a strong blue, purple and pink duochrome but it's not as strong on the nail. I love this colour! I really wish the bottle was bigger, it's only 4.5mls and I don't want it to run out!

Blue Night is a gorgeous blue and purple duo-chrome glass fleck shimmer. As with most duo-chrome polishes most of the duo-chrome doesn't show up on the nail. LabMuffin recently layer a polish over black which brought out the duo-chrome so I thought I'd try it but unfortunately it didn't help this polish.

I found this polish whilst holidaying in Bali. VOV is a Korean Brand, I tried to navigate their website as best as I could with Google translate but couldn't find any stores outside Korea selling their polishes.

Morning Java is from the Pretty Serious - Hello World collection 2012. It's a bronze gold shimmer with gold glass flecks. The formula was great! It was also really pigmented, I almost got away with one coat. I believe the name Morning Java refers to drinking coffee in the morning. I don't like coffee but I love this polish! I need to have about six spoons of sugar in my coffee for me to be able to drink it. I've got a big sweet tooth! Edit: to the coffee logo for applets run by Java.

Sapphire Luck is from the Year In The Rocks collection from 2004. This is a really old one! It smells like a pre-3 free formula. It has a sheer grey-blue base with blue shimmer and silver glass flecks. In the bottle it has a purple duo-chome but not so much on the nail.

The back of the bottle says "A fast drying, high gloss nail colour". Well it might have been fast drying in 2004 but it sure isn't now! This took forever to dry, you can see in the picture that it was still wet because I stuck my finger in it. Maybe we were just more patient back then?

Hue is a frosty yellow glass fleck shimmer. This one took it's time to dry and I kept bumping my nails on stuff. I always admire the Sally Hansen HD line in the store. All the colours look to pretty and I had planned to buy all of them eventually. I now have three of them. I just wish they weren't so expensive here! They are $13.95 each where I shop.

I hope all my Aussie and New Zealand followers have a great ANZAC Day! I can never convince myself to get out of bed and go to dawn service but I will be making ANZAC biscuits!

Gasoline is a purple and blue glass fleck shimmer in a purple jelly base. the first coat looked really sheer but it built up nicely. The formula was runny and liked to pool in my cuticles. This looked really sparkly under some lighting such as my desk lamp and the the lights in the elevators at work. I'm not sure how it looks in the sunlight because we had a gloomy rainy day yesterday in Sydney. The rest of the week isn't looking much better.

Thanks for your suggestions for what to layer Fantasy Fire over. One of my readers reminded me about the buy 1 get one free Revlon sale that Priceline are having so I was able to pick up Royal and Scandalous (Facets of Fuchsia).

Colada Fizz has silver glass flecks in a sheer light blue base. I'm not really sure what this one smells like. It just seams to be a sweeter smelling nail polish odour. The base is really sheer, after three coats my nails have just the slightest blue tint. It kind of looks like my nails are frozen.

I don't have a sky blue polish (I'll have to fix that) so I layered it over the lightest blue I own - Ulta3 - Blue heaven:

Grapefruit Fizz has pink, gold and silver glass flecks in a sheer pink jelly base. I guessing this polish is supposed to represent pink grape fruits. I'm not to familar with them so I can't tell you if the smell matches. The polish has a sweet tangy smell. This looks horrible on it's own on me!

Apple-tini Fizz has green and blue glass flecks in a sheer yellow toned green jelly base. This looks horrible on the nail by itself! It smells like green apples, but I'm not sure if I just think that because of the name and the colour.

Grape Fizz has blue and purple glass flecks in a sheer scented purple jelly base. I don't think this one will build up to bottle colour. If it's not even close after 3 coats I give up. It looks more opaque on my ring and pinky finger but that's just because of the angle they are on. Look how pretty it is in the bottle! It's such a shame. This smells just like the cherry flavoured soft chew lollies from the Natural Confectionery Company. I didn't smell grape at all.  

I decided to layer this over my favourite purple, Ulta3 - Orchid:

Fast Track is from the China Glaze Capitol Colors collection - 2012. It's a light taupe creme with small gold shimmer flakes. This is really pretty, not sure if it suits me but I like it anyway! It's an office appropriate colour, not that it matters at my workplace.

Watermelon Fizz is a red glass fleck shimmer in a sheer red jelly base. This is watermelon scented and each bottle has a scratch and sniff sticker on the cap. The sticker is an accurate match to the nail polish scent. Revlon has a whole line of scented Fizz nail polishes and I bought most of them. These must be intended to be layering polishes because they are all very sheer. I used four coats for the picture above and you can clearly still see a visible nail line. If you have short nails you wont need as many coats.

I got this from OzSale for $4. My bottle arrived with part of the label rubbed off like in the photo above. Probably part of the reason they were on sale.

Seche Vite Top Coat

Choose Me! is a yellow gold shimmer in a green glass fleck base. The gold shimmer is most noticeable in the bottle but also transfers onto the nail. This had a good formula. You can still see a visible nail line after two coats so you might want to try three if you cant stand that. It's very pretty, I really like this one. It's a little stubborn to remove and stained my fingers but worth it for the gorgeous colour. This is a dupe of Orly - Halley's Comet. I've got a comparison picture below. If you've been wanting Halley's Comet then Choose Me! is a cheap alternative.

Seche Vite Top Coat

Uptempo Plum is a dark purple plum colour shimmery flakes. In the bottle you can see purple, pink and gold flakes but unfortunately it doesn't transfer onto the nail. This was almost a one coater which is what you expect from the Insta-Dri line. It dries fast, touchable in about 3 minutes. I got this from Chemist Warehouse.

I just realised today is Friday the 13th! That reminds me of this fact: All months that begin on a Sunday will have a Friday the 13th.
Does any one know if you can get the Red Angel plates anywhere else than Amazon? They aren't shipping them internationally anymore :(

Space Cadet is from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection. It's red/orange/yellow colour shift glitter flecks in a blue/grey base. This one seemed to be the most talked about colour from the collection but I don't prefer it over Halley's Comet or Lunar Eclipse. The colour shift is more noticeable on the nail with Space Cadet. It's coming off a little purple in my pictures but I think it's just something to do with the base being blue. I just painted one of my nails to check and I'm not seeing the purple.

Lunar Eclipse is from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection. It's blue and purple colour shift glitter flakes in a blue base. You can't see the purple in the pictures above but you can see it in the macro below. This is my favourite one out of the collection, it's so pretty! I'm wearing this on my toes at the moment. I forgot to mention in the other Cosmic FX posts but did you notice that's my right hand in the pictures? I usually swatch on my left hand but I had a nail break so I used my right. Then I broke two nails on my right hand so my nails are even shorter! I hope you don't mind looking at my stubs for a while in future posts.

Orly - Out Of This World

I was about to go to sleep last night and I realised I hadn't scheduled a post for today. It was too late for me to post last night so I'm writing this one on the train to work. I did a Christmas nail art last night for my work Christmas party today. I took some photos last night but I'm not sure if they are any good. I'm still learning the best settings to use for nail photos, if you have any tips feel free to let me know.

I got some exciting nail mail yesterday! If I get home early after the Christmas party and if it's still sunny I will try to swatch some of them.

Out of this world is from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection. It's a purple and orange colour shift glitter flecks in a blue/black purple toned base. The black base really comes out in the sun. The macro shot below shows the colour shift the best. Sometimes the glitter looks a bit pink. You can see that in the bottle picture above. I think this was actually the first one from this collection I wore.
