Pacific has a mix or large blue and holo turquoise hex glitter, turquoise bar glitter and small silver holo glitter in a blue jelly base. 

Pacific was inspired by the ocean with the sun shining on it (the Pacific Ocean to be exact). It's especially pretty in the sun with all those holo glitters sparkling. The blue jelly base is sheer at first but builds up after three coats. 

Were you able to look away from the macro shot long enough to read this? I sure found it hard to try and type this post without getting distracted by it!

Pretty Serious - Golden Ticket

When Pretty Serious announced their Golden Ticket Competition I was excited but didn't actually think I would win one. As I was cutting the tape on the sides of the package I convinced myself that there would be no ticket in there so I wouldn't be disapointed when I opened it. Well what did I see when I opened the box? A freaken Golden Ticket! Are you kidding me?! I was ecstatic!

There were 10 Golden Tickets to be found from the first 100 orders where at least one polish from the Christmas Without Snow collection was purchased. Pretty Serious - Creature Crush

Here is the last polish from the Pretty Serious Monster Mash collection. Creature Crush has large black and silver holo hex glitter and tiny silver and black glitter in a blackened navy base. 

In my excitement to share this collection with you I forgot to mention the packaging! The Monster Mash Collection comes in awesome green holographic boxes. The pinup art on the boxes was given a Halloween make over, also the shipping packaging and the website are Halloween themed! I love little extra touches like that.

Pretty Serious - Liquid Leprechaun

Liquid Leprechaun is packed full of glitter! There is a mix of gold hex glitter, green square glitter and and silver holo square glitter in a green jelly base. 

Kaz (Pretty Serious creator) describes this polish as what a Leprechaun looks like when you put it in a blender. I felt bad for the poor leprechaun but apparently he was a "nasty little leprechaun that wants to rip your face off for stealing his pot of gold" so I guess he deserved it, besides, he makes a lovely polish!

Memo's Mind - Cosmic Bullet

Cosmic Bullet is very opaque, it barely needed the second coat. It drys fast and has a matte and gritty finish so you'll need a coat or two of top coat. I used Ulta3 - Top coat and then a coat of Seche Vite and it wasn't glassy smooth so you might need two coats of Seche Vite or another thick top coat. This also has some holo glitter, it's hard to see on my nails but you can see some red and green in the bottle

Memo's Mind polishes are scented but if you prefer you can order them without the fragrance. I love scented polishes and these have a pleasant smell. Memo's Mind polishes are now available in 15ml bottles.

Purple Holographic Glitter Custom Polish

This week has gone by so quickly. To me today feels more like Wednesday then Thursday. 

Last October I posted a haul that included some holographic flakes. I thought that the flakes might cure my Spectraflair lemming but they didn't. They are much larger. I've got a comparison picture below. One of my readers asked if I had made anything using the flakes and I realised I hadn't really tried them out. So I decided to make a polish to show them (and you).

 3 coats

I used blue and red tints and an untinted lacquer base from Beauty World then added a few scoops of the holo flakes. It turned out a much deeper purple then I was going for but I like it. Here's a comparison of Spectraflair and these holo flakes.

Sally Hansen Gem Crush - Glitz Gal

Glitz Gal is from the Sally Hansen Gem Crush collection - 2012. It's a dark grey micro glitter with larger holographic hex glitters. This dried super fast! It's very gritty so you'll need lots of top coat. It also drieds dull so the top coat brings out the gliter. This is very similar, if not a dupe for China Glaze - Some Like It Haute. I think a few of the others are dupes for the China Glaze - Eye Candy collection.

At first I picked up Be-Jeweled (the purple one) from this collection. The checkout line went past the display and when I got down the line to the display I ended up swapping for Glitz Gal.

Jingle Jangle is from the Color Club - Under The Mistletoe collection  - 2011. It's a green, blue and silver glitter with scattered holographic glitter in a green jelly base. This is so gorgeous. When I first saw this collection I put it on my wish list then sort of forgot about it. Then I saw it pop up on a blog a few months later and it reminded me how much I wanted it. This is similar to  China Glaze - Atlantis which was also on my wish list. I don't think I need that one anymore.

Seche Vite Top Coat

With A K is from Elixir Lacquers Preciate Collection - 2012. It is silver holographic micro glitter and large holographic hex glitters in a pink jelly base. There might be more glitter in there but I can't make out any other individual colours. The formula was a little thick but still workable. I used two coats of Seche Vite to give it a glass smooth finish, I found that after one coat it still felt a little rough.

Elixir Lacquers was created by Nicole from Nail Polish Wars. I was a little confused when I first saw this in real life because Nicole's swatch of this was more purple toned. It's still gorgeous, just not what I was expecting. Overall I'm very impressed with the first Elixir Lacquers collection and look forward to the next one.

You can get Elixir Lacquers nail polish from http://www.elixirlacquers.com/, each nail polish retails for $10USD each. Each Elixir Lacquers nail polish comes wrapped in felt and tied up with wool. It's a very nice touch. The felt is provided to help with the removal of glitter rather than using cotton balls or pads. I used the felt and pure acetone to remove this and it came off easily.
