This week has gone by so quickly. To me today feels more like Wednesday then Thursday.
Last October I posted a haul that included some holographic flakes. I thought that the flakes might cure my Spectraflair lemming but they didn't. They are much larger. I've got a comparison picture below. One of my readers asked if I had made anything using the flakes and I realised I hadn't really tried them out. So I decided to make a polish to show them (and you).
3 coats
I used blue and red tints and an untinted lacquer base from Beauty World then added a few scoops of the holo flakes. It turned out a much deeper purple then I was going for but I like it. Here's a comparison of Spectraflair and these holo flakes.
Left: Spectraflair 1500-35 Grade
Right: Specalist Paints Holographic Silver (M)
Mmm, yummy! I like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteOohh :D Still very pretty :D
ReplyDeleteI like how this turns out, esp. the jelly base!

DeleteI love how it turned out! Love the deep purple and holo flakes:) I can't get my spectraflair to make any polish I make to look holo.I have 14 and 35 grade I've tried following suggestions of a straw scoop to a bottle but can't figure it out still can't see any holoness
ReplyDeleteI tried to make a spectraflair top coat. I don't think I got the quantities right. Maybe try adding just a little bit at a time and testing after each? :)
DeleteYeah I need to try it again just got frustrated with all the waste of product I had lol
DeleteIt's so great!! You're good at frankening)
ReplyDeleteSo Pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! I don't think my spectraflair would cure my lemming for this... although my Elytras might :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look similar to the Elyta glitter, I thought that when I was editing photos. :)
DeleteThis is really pretty- and I love the jelly texture of it too.
ReplyDeleteI still think it's pretty even if it looks a bit chunky.
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeletePPP, I think they look pretty awesome... and I think these are the flakes used in China Glaze Fairy Dust or OPI Teenage Dream... I wanted to buy one. Thanks for showing this :-)
