Ozotic Scatter Chrome - 915

Ozotic recently discontinued some of their shades. Unfortunately if was all the good stuff like the multichromes and holos. But now they've just released some new stuff; Scatter Chromes, Beam and Sugar polishes. I'll be showing you one of each over the next few weeks.

I thought this might need to be worn over black like the Ozotic multichromes but it's fine on it's own after two coats. In the shade this looks mostly like a green and gold duohrome with silvery flakes. In the sun (or in my case, nails angled down in the light box) the holo flakes come out to play. 

I think the scattered flakes are really pretty. It's easier to see the base colour in the Ozotic scatter chromes than the Ozotic Mish Mash polishes (which I still need to swatch). The flakes lie flat on the nail so it has a nice smooth finish. Adding a top coat didn't affect the strength of the holo flakes.

Pretty Serious - Gargoyle Ganache

Gargoyle Ganache is a colour shifting shimmer in a gun metal grey base. Most of the time it looks like a purple toned grey shimmer but there are also flashes of green and gold. This is very pigmented and was a little thick but application was fine. 

This is unique in my collection. The shimmer flakes make a beautiful finish.

I was reading on the Pretty Serious blog that there were some different protoypes of this that we may be seeing in the future. I'm interested to see what they look like!

Knock Out Violet has a purple base with purple and blue glass fleck shimmer. In the bottle it  has a strong blue, purple and pink duochrome but it's not as strong on the nail. I love this colour! I really wish the bottle was bigger, it's only 4.5mls and I don't want it to run out!

Where Is The Party? is a purple and green duochrome. In the bottle it's more of a multichrome. You can see purple, green, blue and a darker purple. On the nail you only see purple and green at a sharp angle. In the picture above you can see some of the green on my index finger. It was hard to capture on camera but it's more noticeable in person. It looks like an oil slick in the bottle, I wish it transferred on to the nail.

Essence - Choose Me!

Seche Vite Top Coat

Choose Me! is a yellow gold shimmer in a green glass fleck base. The gold shimmer is most noticeable in the bottle but also transfers onto the nail. This had a good formula. You can still see a visible nail line after two coats so you might want to try three if you cant stand that. It's very pretty, I really like this one. It's a little stubborn to remove and stained my fingers but worth it for the gorgeous colour. This is a dupe of Orly - Halley's Comet. I've got a comparison picture below. If you've been wanting Halley's Comet then Choose Me! is a cheap alternative.

Space Cadet is from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection. It's red/orange/yellow colour shift glitter flecks in a blue/grey base. This one seemed to be the most talked about colour from the collection but I don't prefer it over Halley's Comet or Lunar Eclipse. The colour shift is more noticeable on the nail with Space Cadet. It's coming off a little purple in my pictures but I think it's just something to do with the base being blue. I just painted one of my nails to check and I'm not seeing the purple.

Lunar Eclipse is from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection. It's blue and purple colour shift glitter flakes in a blue base. You can't see the purple in the pictures above but you can see it in the macro below. This is my favourite one out of the collection, it's so pretty! I'm wearing this on my toes at the moment. I forgot to mention in the other Cosmic FX posts but did you notice that's my right hand in the pictures? I usually swatch on my left hand but I had a nail break so I used my right. Then I broke two nails on my right hand so my nails are even shorter! I hope you don't mind looking at my stubs for a while in future posts.

Orly - Out Of This World

I was about to go to sleep last night and I realised I hadn't scheduled a post for today. It was too late for me to post last night so I'm writing this one on the train to work. I did a Christmas nail art last night for my work Christmas party today. I took some photos last night but I'm not sure if they are any good. I'm still learning the best settings to use for nail photos, if you have any tips feel free to let me know.

I got some exciting nail mail yesterday! If I get home early after the Christmas party and if it's still sunny I will try to swatch some of them.

Out of this world is from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection. It's a purple and orange colour shift glitter flecks in a blue/black purple toned base. The black base really comes out in the sun. The macro shot below shows the colour shift the best. Sometimes the glitter looks a bit pink. You can see that in the bottle picture above. I think this was actually the first one from this collection I wore.

Halley's Comet is from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 Collection. It is green and gold glitter flecks in an aqua base. It looks blue in my pictures but I'm wearing it at the moment and in this light it looks very green. I'm wearing it inside at night so I don't trust this light to show to right colour. The gold glitter makes it look like there is some light green in the bottle too but I don't think there actually is. This is very pretty, I like this one a lot. Macro shot below.

Galaxy Girl is from the Cosmic FX Collection Fall 2010. Galaxy Girl is green glitter flakes in a bruise coloured purple base. I like this one but it's not one of my favourites from the collection because of the base colour, it just reminds me of bruises. I forgot to mention yesterday that these are a little difficult to remove because of the glitter flakes. You might notice I have glitter specks on my cuticles from swatching. Sorry about the messy cuticle on my middle finger, it sort of looks like it's bleeding, whoops!

It's Not Rocket Science is from the Orly Fall 2010 Collection. It's green glitter flakes in a murky yellow base. The glitter changes from light yellow green to dark green. This is my least favourite from the collection. I still think it's pretty but it's an ugly pretty. The glitter is the only thing that saves it for me. I've bought a new macro lens for my camera, look at the picture below! You can really see the flakes. You'll be seeing a lot more macro shots like this.
