CND VINYLUX Review

Beyond Polish sent me some CND VINYLUX polishes to try. I'd never tried CND before but I was very impressed. Both of these were opaque, I only needed two coats. I also received the CND VINYLUX Weekly Top Coat. The brush was really soft (it might be good for use over stamping without smudging) I used it for both swatches, it dries fast too.

Both of these shades lasted quite a while, I wore them for at least a week and only had mild tip wear no chips. My favourite was Purple Purple, can't beat that gorgeous purple and blue shimmer combination.

Shades Of Phoenix - Hades

Hades was the second Shades Of Pheonix shade that caught my eye. 

Hades has a mix of silver holo squares, blue squares, black diamonds and short black bars in a black base. The formula was great. It build up easily with two coats. I used a PVA base so removal was easy. 

All the polishes in the Olympus Collection are named after Greek Gods. Hades is the King of the Underworld and God of the dead and the hidden wealth of the Earth. If you want to read more about Hades you can check The Shades of Phoenix store.

Alanna Renee - Pacific

Pacific has a mix or large blue and holo turquoise hex glitter, turquoise bar glitter and small silver holo glitter in a blue jelly base. 

Pacific was inspired by the ocean with the sun shining on it (the Pacific Ocean to be exact). It's especially pretty in the sun with all those holo glitters sparkling. The blue jelly base is sheer at first but builds up after three coats. 

Were you able to look away from the macro shot long enough to read this? I sure found it hard to try and type this post without getting distracted by it!

Pretty Serious - Party By The Pool

Party By The Pool is a sheer blue jelly polish with blue and green micro glitter. You can still see a bit of visible nail line after three coats in the photo above. If the visible nail line bothers you then you might have to use four coats or layer it over something. Party By The Pool was purposely created sheer to let the blue and green shimmer show through, also it looks more realistic, like a shimmery pool. 

The blue and green micro glitter makes this polish really pretty. I'd love to be able to dive into this pool on a hot Summer day!

Pretty Serious - Hot Summer Nights

Hot Summer Nights is a gorgeous dark blue polish with subtle silver and pink micro glitter. You can see some of the pink micro glitter in the bottle under the word "Serious" in the photo above. 

This was really opaque! I only used one coat. Hot Summer Nights is absolutely gorgeous! I think it might be my favourite from the collection although I haven't tried the other five yet. I've run out of time to change my manicure tonight but I don't mind leaving this on for another day. 

I'm also glad I'm wearing this tonight because it matches the weather. I love Summer and hot Summer nights are the best!

Artsy Wednesday: Tape

I used Calypso Holiday for the base and then used two different blue coloured striping tape in a diagonal line across each nail. I used some small nail scissors to cut the tape nice and close to my nails. I then used a coat of Seche Vite over the top to seal the tape in. I got my striping tape from eBay.

China Glaze - Water You Waiting For

Water You Waiting For is a gorgeous blue, green and purple glitter polish. There is purple and green hex glitter with blue and purple micro glitter in a blue jelly base. 

This was opaque after two coats but I used three for extra depth. 

Every time I read and type the name of this polish I can't help but say it like "Worta You Waiting For", am I alone here lol?

China Glaze - Hanging In The Balance

Hanging in the balance is a medium blue creme. This was very pigmented, almost a one coater. I accidentally flooded my cuticle on my index finger and it stained. You can see my cuticle has blue tinge to it in the photo above. It's possible that this could stain your nails blue after wearing it for a while, I only wore it for a few minutes while swatching so I can't be sure.

Gloss 'n Sparkle - Above Deck

Above Deck is stunning! My swatch does not do it justice. It has blue glitter in a blue base with a green shimmer. This makes me think of the beautiful clear blue water somewhere tropical. I just want to dive into that macro shot!
