I think this kind of looks like rainbow fish scales. I used twelve different colours for this look. The base is Ulta3 - Black Satin. I painted a coat of slow drying top coat on my ring finger then placed the hex glitters a toothpick. I used a coat of Seche Vite over the top. I need to work on the placement, my honeycomb pattern is a little uneven.
Born Pretty Store has a pack of twelve different coloured hex glitters for $6.45 which you can find here. You can use my discount code for 10% off. Each container has a decent amount of hex glitters and it should last me a while.
The hex glitters were provided for review.
Love this look with all the different colors of glitter over black, it makes them look like little lights :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks so awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteThat must've taken hours!
ReplyDeleteIt actually didn't take as long as I thought it would. It might have been about 10 minutes for this mani. I think it will be quicker next time now that I've got the hang of it.

ReplyDeleteSo lovely. They do look like rainbow fish scales. I don't mind your placement of the glitters at all. We see all of the imperfections because we can see our own hands all of the time up close. :)
Very true! I can see all the imperfections on my nails but everyone else's look fine. :)
DeleteThat is really pretty. It's so tricky getting them lined up, but you did a great job. Those glitters look a good size, a bit smaller than the ones that I have used.
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I'm not sure what size they are, there's nothing written on them.
DeleteThe honeycomb pattern looks brilliant to me!! Using a variety of colours makes it look so pretty :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteThat looks absolutely stunning! Great job! I have a ton of hex glitter lying around. I'm going to have to try this!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I had fun doing this. :)
DeleteLooks like discoball~!! Nice
ReplyDeleteYeah it reminds me of that too! :)
DeleteYou clearly have a very steady hand! Looks great:)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteBeautiful mani. I bought the hexagons recently and I love them. There is so much you can do with it like this lovely example.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to using them again. :)
DeleteThat must have taken forever!!! I have not the patience for that! But it is oh so cool!
ReplyDeleteIt actually didn't take that long :)
DeleteGorgeous, I love it, must have taken ages!
ReplyDeleteIt didn't take as long as I thought it would. :)
