This Is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Trick Or Treat

I started with a base of Lily White the stamped different coloured lollies on each nail. The cup cake is from BM14, the lolly pop is from BM02 and the lolly is from BM-322.

I'm not sure which design I'll recreate for tomorrow's challenge so I'm going to go look through them all now.

This Is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Graveyard

I started with a sponged gradient base of Black Satin, Midnight Fever and Lily White. 

I stamped the cross from BM13 a few times on my nails with Silver Grey. I also used silver Grey for the spider web stamp from BM13. I used Lily White for the ghost from BM-223. I also used Lily White for the eyes on my middle finger. I used one of the bats on BM13 for the triangle eye shape and a dotting tool with Black Satin for the eye balls.

Emily de Molly - Zombie Spotting

Zombie Spotting is a limited edition Halloween polish with a mix of large black dots, black bar glitter, orange hex glitter, green holo hex glitter and pale pink hex glitter. 

I thought I might have to go fishing for the black dots but they were easily picked up by the brush. I used two dabbled coats over Revlon - Purple Potion (which is also a limited edition Halloween polish) for my swatch.

Emily de Molly is an Australian indie brand that I've been wanting to try for a while. I'm sure my international readers will be pleased to hear that Emily de Molly polishes will be stocked on Llarowe soon!

Gloss 'n Sparkle - Witches Britches

Witches Britches has various sized orange, green and black hex glitter and small black square glitter in a purple crelly base. There is so much glitter in this bottle that it can be quite thick after three coats, you'll need a few coats of top coat to give it a glassy smooth finish.

Witches Britches is a limited edition polish for Halloween. There are still some bottles available on the Gloss 'n Sparkle Etsy store, the first lot of them sold out really fast!

This is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Witches

This post is late sorry! I went to the Hunter Valley this weekend and I was going to use my phone for internet and type up the post once I got there but I forgot my phone charger and my phone ran out of battery before I got there.

I used a gradient for the base. I started at the tip with Black Satin and then worked my way to the base of my nail using Purple Potion, Carrot Top and Frangipani. I used a cosmetic sponge to apply each colour.

Then I stamped on some witches, trees, a cat, hat and a bat. The witches are from plate BM13, the hat is from BM-209, the cat is from BM04 and the bat is from BM13. The trees are from the pumpkin vines on BM-224.

Here is the last polish from the Pretty Serious Monster Mash collection. Creature Crush has large black and silver holo hex glitter and tiny silver and black glitter in a blackened navy base. 

In my excitement to share this collection with you I forgot to mention the packaging! The Monster Mash Collection comes in awesome green holographic boxes. Pretty Serious - Mummy Mush

Mummy Mush is one interesting polish! Its a golden glass fleck that shifts from gold to pink and blue. I didn't realise there was a blue shift until I was inspecting the swatch in my notebook while typing this post. You can't see the blue flash in my photo but Kaz captured it in her post. Make sure you are careful applying your Mummy Mush. If you get any on your cuticles those glass flecks are stubborn and don't come off easily.

Again I thought this would need more than two coats but two coats was enough to cover any visible nail line. I guess I'm just not used to the great pigmentation quality of Pretty Serious polishes yet.

Halloween is coming up fast so I've scheduled another Halloween polish post in an hour.

Pretty Serious - Viscous Vampire

Viscous Vampire is very pigmented. I thought I'd need more than two coats so it really surprised me. It has red hex glitter, pink square glitter and silver micro glitter in a red jelly base.

I love the depth of this polish, it's really stunning!

When I first opened this bottle the brush was bent. I opened it again a few days later to swatch and the brush was fine. I think it mustn't have been pushed into the cap far enough during the manufacture process. When I closed it the first time I must have pushed it in far enough for it to straighten out.

Artsy Wednesday: Cling Wrap Manicure

I've seen cling wrap manis on blogs and I wasn't sure if I liked them or not. Now that I've done one myself I love them!

I started with a base of Tahitian Lime and then sponged on Orchid, Hollywood and Silver Grey with cling wrap. To get the polish on the cling wrap I put a few drops on paper and then dipped a scrunched up ball of cling wrap in it.

Pretty Serious - Liquid Leprechaun

Liquid Leprechaun is packed full of glitter! There is a mix of gold hex glitter, green square glitter and and silver holo square glitter in a green jelly base. 

Kaz (Pretty Serious creator) describes this polish as what a Leprechaun looks like when you put it in a blender. I felt bad for the poor leprechaun but apparently he was a "nasty little leprechaun that wants to rip your face off for stealing his pot of gold" so I guess he deserved it, besides, he makes a lovely polish!

This one was really easy. I put a few drops of Black Satin and Poinsettia on a piece of paper and then mixed them together in the middle with a dotting tool. Then I dipped a cosmetic sponge in and sponged it on my nails.

Pretty Serious - Gargoyle Ganache

Gargoyle Ganache is a colour shifting shimmer in a gun metal grey base. Most of the time it looks like a purple toned grey shimmer but there are also flashes of green and gold. This is very pigmented and was a little thick but application was fine. 

This is unique in my collection. The shimmer flakes make a beautiful finish.

I was reading on the Pretty Serious blog that there were some different protoypes of this that we may be seeing in the future. I'm interested to see what they look like!

Memo's Mind - Frozen Aqua

I was expecting to have to use about 5 coats for this but is was opaque enough for me after 3 coats. Frozen Aqua is a mix large blue hex and small silver and turquoise hex gitters in a blue jelly base.

Memo's Mind polishes are scented but if you prefer you can order them without the fragrance. I love scented polishes and these have a pleasant smell. Memo's Mind polishes are now available in 15ml bottles.

This Is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Bats

I thought I'd add to my Poltergeist Puddle manicure from yesterday. I sponged on Russian Nave at the base of my nail although it's a little hard to see. Then I sponged on some Lily White and Silver Grey to make the clouds. I also used Lily White and a dotting tool for the moon.

Once it was dry I stamped on some bats from BM-213 using Black Satin, I used one of the bats from BM13 for the one flying in front of the moon.

Pretty Serious - Poltergeist Puddle

Poltergeist Puddle is a rich purple shimmer with flakes of blue and red (or maybe dark pink). This is gorgeous! As soon as I saw pictures of the Monster Mash collection I knew I had to have this. If you're a purple lover like me you will adore this!
